WORK YOUR OWN WAY.

A 90 minute workshop once a month to pause, reflect and grow without losing yourself in your work.

You want to grow at work, but not at the cost of everything else. You want space to think, people who understand the struggle, and tools that cut through the overwhelm.

Work Your Own Way is a monthly group coaching session that gives you 90 minutes to concentrate on you and your work. Step back, make sense of what’s going on, and reconnect with what matters. You can then return to your work with a clearer sense of yourself and what your work needs.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A SESSION

Each session follows the same rhythm. Come as you are in that moment, no preparation needed. We start with a light-hearted check-in to ease you into expressing yourself freely. Usually with metaphors like, “What kitchen utensil represents how you’re feeling today?” One day you might be a whisk, another day a coffee machine – there’s never a wrong answer!

Then we work through a tool or exercise together. Something practical, which focuses on a topic such as who you are at work and outside it, your current direction, or which strengths you’re using at work. There’s space to talk and be heard without agenda or judgement.

We close with a reflective gentle check-out, noticing how you’re feeling compared to how you arrived. Most people experience a natural shift.

Sessions are shaped by the group. You can bring a challenge you’re facing, a question you’re sitting with, or just show up and see what lands. Each session stands alone, so you don’t need to attend each and every one. Sessions are not recorded so we can speak freely, and there is no homework!

Image represents increasing clarity towards a clear business blueprint. There are four brains in a row from left to right. The first brain in the row has a tangled thread in a thought bubble above its head. The next brain in the sequence has a less jumbled tangle. The third brain has a small, open knot. The last brain in the sequence has a light bulb lit above its head and is looking at a business blueprint. The blueprint is titled 'my business'. It has four sections: values, vision, customers and offer.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

You care about doing good work. You might be employed, freelancing, or running your own thing. You’re very capable. People rely on you. But you feel like you don’t get to put enough energy into growing and learning. You feel like you’ve handled everything on your own so far but you want to feel less alone as you keep growing.

You might be navigating unclear expectations, back-to-back meetings, or a role that no longer fits who you’re becoming. You might be figuring out how to work around your health, your energy, or challenges outside work. You’re not in crisis, but you’re tired of figuring it all out alone.

Cutting down or stopping work isn’t an option – after all, you have financial commitments. But you want to present yourself differently in work, while making sure you feel fulfilled and can consistently offer value.

Work Your Own Way is a space where you can change and grow without constant pressure to keep up with everyone else. Here, you never need to feel like you’re coming up short of your potential. It’s a space to lean back into where you really are, and still grow gently, at your own pace.

You don’t need to have it all figured out. If you want work and life to feel different, this is your space.

COME AS YOU ARE.

There’s no preparation, and no homework. No pressure to share anything you’re not ready to share. You can just show up and listen if that’s what you need that day.

Miss a session? You’ll get a written overview of what we covered, with a walkthrough of the exercises to pick up in your own time – only if you want to. Each session stands alone, so you’re never behind. To protect the privacy of what’s been shared, we don’t record sessions.

It’s £23 a month, and you can cancel anytime. No notice period, no questions asked. This is an invitation, not a commitment.

Your Guide

Lou Shackleton is a coach and facilitator who helps people untangle the knots in their life and work. She uses design tools, storytelling, and really good questions to help you see what you already know but haven’t been able to name yet.

She lives on the coast in North Tyneside, is mum to a lively five-year-old, and navigates life with chronic illness — so she understands pace, energy, and being kind to yourself along the way.
